What you need: an RMSSD reading from a wearable or HRV app (Oura, Whoop, Elite HRV, etc.).

HRV (RMSSD) Interpreter

How to use this calculator

Take your RMSSD reading (in milliseconds) from a wearable or dedicated HRV app — most report it as a morning reading — and enter your age alongside it.

What your result means

RMSSD (root mean square of successive differences between heartbeats) is a common heart-rate-variability marker linked to recovery and autonomic nervous system balance — higher is generally associated with better recovery, though HRV is highly individual. This tool places your reading against broad, deliberately wide age-based reference bands rather than a false-precision percentile, since day-to-day HRV swings a lot with sleep, stress, and hydration.

What people say

"Wide reference bands instead of fake precision — refreshing compared to some wearable apps."

— Chris D.

"Paired with my Oura ring data, it gave me context I didn't have before."

— Yuki N.
